Do you have the desire to take the next step in your walk with God?
Through our Service and Leadership Training Program you get a small taste of what goes into making a week of camp successful. At the same time, you’ll be poured into by two of our best counselors as mentors and teachers during your three week stay here at Woodlands.
The SALT program is designed to provide mature 16 to 18 year olds with the opportunity to experience God like never before by serving others and becoming a leader. Woodlands uses everyday camp moments to develop strong leadership qualities and foster meaningful conversations in order to help you grow in your Christian walk.
Please take the time to pray diligently regarding whether or not God would have you apply for SALT this year. While it is so rewarding, it’s not an easy program and involves a lot of hard work. If you feel God may be calling you to serve on SALT this summer, do not hesitate to apply. Space is always limited, so please put intentional time and careful consideration into your application. Woodlands Camp wants you to be in the program where God will be able to change your life the most!

How to Apply for SALT
+ Step 1: Application
Woodlands is looking for campers who have a heart to grow deeper in their relationship with Jesus, a passion for serving others, and leadership potential. Applicants must be between the ages of 16 - 18 years old at the time of your SALT session. SALT applicants must show a desire of wanting to grow spiritually while also showing the traits of a potential godly leader.
Before you apply for SALT, please read through all of the information below. It will help you make a more informed decision. Then, please take some time to pray. Ask God if this could be the opportunity that He would have for you this summer. If you believe He is leading you to apply, then please do.
Fill out the SALT application. You should receive a confirmation email within 30 minutes of applying. If you do not receive this email, contact our office or email Jonathan McNeely at jmcneely@woodlandscamp.org. There may have been a problem submitting your application. Due to the length of the application, we recommend saving responses on Microsoft Word, notes, etc. in case of internet issues.
+ Step 2: References
Once we receive your application, we will send your references an email containing a reference form for them to fill out. Please tell your references to be looking for this email and to fill it out as soon as they can. Your application is not complete until we have the reference form from both of your references.
+ Step 3: One-Way Video Interview
Your application will NOT be considered until we have received your video!
Once your application has been submitted, you will receive an email from Woodlands Camp asking you to complete a one-way video interview through Spark Hire. You will have to download the Spark Hire app if you are completing the interview on your phone. Before going through the interview you will need to create an account and watch the tutorial for how Spark Hire works. After, you will answer 5 questions and submit your interview to Woodlands Camp.
+ Step 4: Phone Interview
After we review your video, we will be calling you to set up a brief phone interview.
+ Step 5: Results
We will contact you sometime in February (before Traditional Camp registration) with an email letting you know you were accepted or letting you know why we were not able to accept you at this time. Please understand that we have many teen campers apply for the SALT program.
