Love. Honor. Serve.

Woodlands’ purpose is to operate our camp programs in a manner that will provide an unforgettable experience to all our campers. To fulfill that purpose, Woodlands has adopted a code of conduct that requires campers to behave in a way that promotes our core values: love, honor, and serve. This Code of Conduct is effective during any Woodlands program.

Our Code of Conduct is taken from Romans 12:10-11, “Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. Never be lazy, but work hard and serve the Lord enthusiastically.”

When necessary, Woodlands full-time and summer staff will provide correction for any behavior that falls into one or more categories:

  1. Dishonesty

  2. Disobedience

  3. Disrespect

If a camper(s) fail to uphold Woodlands Code of Conduct by committing one or more of the 3 D’s, our staff will be intentional to guide them back to love, honor, and serve. The following disciplinary actions may be imposed for any violation of this Code of Conduct:

  • Verbal warning from the counselor and/or support staff

  • A conversation with the head counselor and counselor

  • Loss of privileges

  • Temporary removal from activities

  • Notification of parents

  • Removal from camp for the remainder of the program

Spending Money

All campers are required to add a minimum of $10 to their retail account online. However, additional funds may be added to the camper’s retail account on check-in day up until Wednesday while they are at camp. On average, campers spend $50 - $75 during a week of camp at the snack shop, gift shop, coffee shop, and offering. Any remaining funds will be electronically refunded after your campers week of camp, unless designated for donation.

Offering

Each week, we teach our campers the joys of giving generously. Then we give them an opportunity to give some of their spending money in our weekly offering. Summer 2024 Causes:

  • Biblica – Biblica focuses on three pivotal focus areas - Bible translation, Bible access, and Bible engagement. This summer’s offering will focus on Bible access by raising enough money to put a Bible in the hands of one at-risk child somewhere in the world for every camper that attends Woodlands this summer!

  • The Seed Company — this organization is dedicated to translating God’s word into every spoken language in this generation. A part of this summer’s offering will help support this cause.

  • The Bible Project — The Bible Project is a non-profit animation studio that produces short-form, fully animated videos to make the biblical story available to everyone, everywhere. They create 100% free videos, podcasts and resources that help the whole world see the Bible as one unified story that leads to Jesus.

  • Woodlands Scholarship Fund – designed to enable at-risk kids from northeast Georgia to attend Woodlands, experience an unforgettable week and hear about Jesus. 5,069 at-risk kids have attended Woodlands on scholarship since 1998. 15% of those kids have trusted Christ.

From time to time campers may miss home. If a camper experiences homesickness while attending one of our programs, it is our goal to keep them engaged in the program. While your camper is entrusted to our care, we will not allow them to call home, as we have found it only makes matters worse. We will do our best to keep them invested in their cabin and activities.
